Jerome Dehoux has been waving the tricolor here since 2007, and Bedfordshire’s Francophiles have developed a great affection for this rustic, family-run place, proclaiming it ‘the best restaurant in the area’. The menu is pitched perfectly for the local crowds: mille-feuille of crab meat seasoned with coriander & scallions or terrine of pork belly with smoked ham & red onion marmalade to start, then grilled calf’s liver with bacon, onions & vintage Bordeaux wine jus, plus tarte tatin & caramel ice-cream to finish.

Previously known as Italian restaurant Il Millefiori, Dunstable’s restaurant has a brand new name – Chez Jerome – to reflect a new, sophisticated French dining philosophy. With award winning new head chef Jerome Dehoux at the helm the restaurant is as warm and welcoming as ever but the food has been taken to the next level. With a European theme the concise menu is a tempting combination of Mediterranean flavours, French theory and superb English produce. The emphasis is on quality and seasonal freshness and every dish is a reflection of just this, allowing the ingredients to shine through.
